Dissikuss - Surrey, BC
Growing up in one of the most densely populated and crime polluted cities in Canada, KG Mitchell was no angel when it came to his earlier years. Although a talented performer from middle school, he was also a competitive athlete. After high school, Dissikuss originated from his means to "Discuss" with the world topics and events that he had personally experienced. A fluent poet and backyard freestyler, Dissikuss never persued his true talents until his mid twenties when he recorded his first demos. These were shopped to producers all around North America, and after hearing over 2000 songs, Dissikuss wrote "Collateral Damage". His first single reached over 2,000 plays in four days on Myspace, rocketing him to #5 for all artists in his genre (Hip Hop) in Canada on the Myspace Music charts. The second release from this album "Karma" was selected for "Canadian Monsters" volume two mixtape. After many performances, Dissikuss wrote his first new single "Life Story" which was featured on www.hiphopcanada.com and prompted more writing for his yet to be released sophomore album "The War Within".
His performances have won him opening spots for Tech N9ne & Krizz Kaliko, Killah Priest (Wu Tang Clan), R.A the Rugged Man (on two seperate occasions), DJ E-Swift (Alkaholiks), on stage of a major festival as the only Hip Hop act (Pillage at the Village), and hundereds of other smaller performances.
His future goal of taking his music to International stages is in motion, and Diss continues to release new music almost weekly for his loyal cult following of fans.
"I just want to translate my experiences into rich stories that embrace the audience and emote a real response from them" says Dissikuss.
