We are recording some demonstration tunes right now at Studio Robot. They will be up in the new year so check back soon! Right now, we’re working on cooking up some tasty drum sounds using an Alesis Multimix and some sweet mics from the cabinet: ElectroVoice RE-20, Shure SM-57, Sennheiser 421 II, and some assorted Apex condensers run through presonus pres and tracked in CuBase Sx3.

I just got a new Zildjian 20? A Custom crash cymbal from Dave at Central Music in Welland, On. It came in the mail just in the nick of time to lay down some tracks for “Zee-row”.
Recording drums is as much an art as it is a science. Also, it’s black magic. To help shed some light and experiment with tunings and setup, I’ve been really into Bob Gatzen’s videos about tuning. Right now I’m really into this video by Russ Long entitled “Guide to Nashville Recording” where he demonstrates recording a tune on two systems, one expensive and the other cheap.
