Having been crowned "BC's Best Teen Band" and releasing their EP "Much More Than Merry Men", The Archers are busy, yet still constantly playing fundraisers and other shows around their home of Victoria BC.
The five friends creating this unique Indie-Folk sound include Ethan Caleb, Sandy Hughes, Liam McLaren, Liam Moes and Robert McMullen. Their music impresses all audiences and The Archers pride themselves in their ability to be multi-talented musicians, songwriters and performers. The Archers share the roles of guitar, piano, bass, drums, mandolin, banjo and multiple other percussion instruments, creating, through this trade off of instruments, an impressive and versatile sound. Audiences enjoy their fresh Folk resonance, compelling harmony, and fantastic energy.
The band was formed in early 2010 by Sandy Hughes and Ethan Caleb. After a few months the two songwriters grew tired of their empty acoustic sound and set out to find a drummer and a bass player. Before too long they found a very reliable rhythm section comprised of Liam Moes on drums and Liam McLaren on bass. Under their previous name “The Shenanigans,” the boys played multiple gigs around their community through their local high school as well as participated in planning and performing at a fundraiser put on to fund the building of schools in Africa. As the summer wained away it became apparent that the band was very limited as a quartet and decided to invite a fifth member. In September of 2010, Liam McLaren was moved from his roll as bass player to playing piano, guitar, and mandolin, and mister Robert McMullen joined the band as bassist. Since then the band has grown exponentially and have succeeded in more ways than they expected.
