UHLAN

UHLAN is a two-member rock fusion group from Guelph, Ontario. They are one supersonic girl- Jessica Lewinski (voice, percussion, tin-flute) and one aerodynamic boy- Brandon Martin (voice, guitar, sonic milieux) and have been collaborating creatively for over five years in projects ranging from avant-garde movement and poetry-based theatre to story-driven concept rock. Their newest musical union, UHLAN, has been in the works since mid-2007. With training and experience in the world of classical and experimental theatre, they each bring a unique vision of performance and dynamism to the music. Shows have been known to start with chorale spoken word, move to blues rock, and end with thick electronic drum loops and orchestral guitars. Rock? Jazz? Experimental? Electro? Yes! Exploring unique worlds of sound juxtaposition and dramatic structure, they spin sound to suspend the listener in a web of ever-shifting musical reality. A fun and tasty blend of mind expansion and booty shakin'! Having just completed the recording of their first self titled EP, UHLAN has just returned from tour, playing over 20 dates across Ontario, and Quebec. The rest of 2008 holds many shows in and around their corner of Southern Ontario, including Guelph, Waterloo, Kitchener, Hamilton and Toronto.
