In the Spring of 2008, WAXMEN debuted with a packed show at the EDGE studios on Yonge Street. New fans swallowed up 100 demo cd's in minutes. As a following began to blossom, WAXMEN played regular shows at Toronto staple indie bars Cherry Cola's, Cameron House and the Bovine Sex Club. Their first full length album, "eleven" was subsequently released to a packed house at the Horseshoe in the spring of 2010. WAXMEN were honoured at the Toronto Independent Music Awards with the award for "Best Alternative Rock Band", and continue to make fans and headway in the independent music scene.
